Vestas Painter
We are looking for experienced Painters to join our team and support Vestas wind turbine installation projects in Scotland. This role will involve carrying out painting, coating, and surface preparation activities on wind turbine components, including blades and other turbine structures.
About The Role
The Vestas Painter will be responsible for carrying out professional painting, coating, surface preparation, and finishing activities on wind turbine components in accordance with project specifications, Vestas requirements, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Working as part of an international installation team, the Painter will support the preparation and finishing of turbine components, ensuring all work is completed to the required technical and quality standards.
The role will involve working with Vestas turbine technology, including the V236 platform, and provides an opportunity to work on major renewable energy projects in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out painting, coating, surface preparation, and finishing activities on wind turbine components.
Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and other preparation techniques.
Apply protective coatings, paints, primers, and finishing products in accordance with project specifications.
Carry out touch-up and repair work to turbine components where required.
Inspect painted surfaces to ensure the required quality, coverage, and finish are achieved.
Follow Vestas procedures, project specifications, risk assessments, and method statements.
Safely use painting equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other specialist equipment.
Support the handling, positioning, and preparation of turbine components during installation activities.
Work safely at height and within turbine nacelles, hubs, towers, and other turbine areas where required.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Complete relevant quality documentation, checklists, and daily reports as required.
Work closely with Supervisors, Technicians, and other members of the installation team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Painter, Industrial Painter, Coatings Technician, or similar role.
Previous experience working on Vestas wind turbine projects is required.
Experience with industrial painting, coating, surface preparation, and finishing.
Experience working with wind turbine components is highly desirable.
Vestas Blade Stacker System training/experience is required.
Vestas Blade Installation Tool training/experience is required.
Vestas Introduction to C Level V236 training is required.
Vestas Installation V236 training is required.
Full GWO training and a valid GWO Medical are required.
Ability to work safely at height and in physically demanding environments.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within the wind energy and industrial sectors.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural team.
English language skills at a minimum B1 level are mandatory and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
Availability to support ongoing and future projects in Scotland.
