About the role
We are looking for experienced Wind Technicians to join our offshore team on the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. Located off the coast of Virginia, CVOW is set to become the largest offshore wind farm in the United States. Our technicians will work directly with next-generation technology, operating and maintaining 176 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD turbines, each engineered to generate up to 15 MW of clean power.
This role is responsible for completing turbine punch list items on the project. Technicians will live offshore on a Service Operations Vessel (SOV), working a four-week on, four-week off rotation.
Key responsibilities
TT-C Tower Technician – Completion / Punch List
Performs completion and punch-list activities on offshore wind turbine systems.
Inspects turbine components and systems to identify outstanding installation and completion items.
Completes punch-list items related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems.
Performs minor repairs, adjustments, component replacements, and corrective actions as required to close punch-list items.
Diagnoses and troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues identified during completion activities.
Verifies completed work against technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
Supports testing, functional checks, and final inspections of turbine systems as required.
Ensures all punch-list items are properly completed, documented, and closed out in accordance with project requirements.
Reads and interprets technical drawings, schematics, installation documentation, and service manuals.
Completes detailed work reports, punch-list documentation, inspection records, and other required project documentation.
Works safely in accordance with HSE procedures, client requirements, and applicable offshore wind industry standards.
Properly uses and maintains tools, equipment, PPE, and other work-related materials.
Works collaboratively with other technicians, supervisors, client representatives, and project teams to complete assigned activities efficiently.
Performs work at height and in challenging offshore and environmental conditions.
Climbs multiple turbine towers per day, including towers without climb-assist systems.
Works from an offshore SOV (Service Operation Vessel) and follows all vessel and offshore safety requirements.
Works rotating shifts, which may include extended working hours and night shifts.
Maintains a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail to ensure turbines are completed and ready for final acceptance.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, acquired through professional experience or relevant academic qualifications. These competencies are essential for the successful performance of the role and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards by consistently adhering to company policies and procedures, promoting regulatory compliance, and contributing to the prevention of workplace incidents and environmental risks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
Ability to analyze technical and operational issues, make sound decisions, and implement effective solutions using available resources.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, contribute to shared goals, and foster a positive, cooperative work environment aligned with MWS values.
Minimum Requirements
2+ years of experience in a similar role within the wind industry.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to pass a drug screening, background check, motor vehicle record check, and physical examination.
Ability to work in demanding environments, including adverse weather conditions and flexible schedules.
Ability to safely use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses, helmets, lanyards, and fall protection equipment.
Ability to climb ladders exceeding 800 feet multiple times per day.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
Ability to demonstrate adequate visual acuity, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and color recognition.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, technical manuals, and work procedures including TWP, WDI, PCAT, FCAT, CCT etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work offshore on a service operations vessel (SOV) in a four-week-on and four-week-off rotation, including extended shifts, night shifts, and challenging weather conditions.
