Job Description – Pre-Installation Technician (Vestas Experience)

At Muehlhan Wind Service, we are looking for experience Pre-Installation Technicians to join our project in out Offshore team. The role will be responsible for safely preparing, inspecting, and ensuring V236 turbine components, tooling, and work areas are ready for installation, while maintaining high standards of HSE, quality, and technical compliance.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Experience working with wind turbines or heavy mechanical equipment.

• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, manuals and procedures.

• Competent in the use of hand tools, torque tools and specialist equipment.

• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe working practices.

• Experience with lifting operations and working at height.

• Good attention to detail and quality inspection skills.

• Ability to identify and report technical issues and non-conformances.

• Strong communication and teamworking skills.

• Ability to work in challenging environments and meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Component preparation – Prepare and inspect major turbine components such as tower sections, nacelle, hub, blades, drivetrain, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment for installation.

• Pre-installation inspections – Check turbine components, tools, lifting equipment, consumables, and documentation before installation activities begin.

• Mechanical preparation – Ensure bolted connections, interfaces, lubrication points, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies are ready for installation in accordance with Vestas procedures.

• Tooling and lifting equipment – Verify that cranes, lifting accessories, specialised installation tools, torque/tensioning equipment, and temporary equipment are available, certified, and suitable for the planned lift.

• Health & safety – Follow site RAMS, permit-to-work requirements, working-at-height procedures, lifting plans, exclusion zones, PPE requirements, and Vestas safety standards.
