Mechanical & Electrical Technicians – Substation & Power Infrastructure Projects
We are looking for experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our Grid & Substations team. This role will be responsible for supporting mechanical and electrical installation activities within energy infrastructure projects across Europe.
About The Role
The Mechanical and Electrical Technician executes mechanical and electrical installation activities, ensuring all work is performed according to technical specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Working as part of an international team, the Mechanical and Electrical Technician supports the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects that contribute to the expansion of renewable energy across Europe.
This position is, initially, based in Germany and operates on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks working on site followed by 2 weeks off in Portugal. This is a long-term project offering stability, professional development, and international exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical and electrical installation activities according to project specifications.
Carry out cable pulling, routing, connection, and testing activities.
Install electrical components, sensors, junction boxes, and auxiliary equipment.
Conduct continuity and functionality tests using appropriate testing equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
Identify and correct minor non-conformities and outstanding installation items.
Perform mechanical assembly activities, including component fixation, alignment, and torqueing.
Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities during project execution.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical installation activities within industrial, energy, construction, or infrastructure environments.
Experience with cable pulling, cable termination, cable connection, and testing.
Experience using testing equipment such as multimeters, ohmmeters, or similar tools.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
Knowledge of mechanical assembly, component installation, and alignment activities.
Experience within substations, energy infrastructure, wind energy, or high-voltage projects is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
English language skills at a minimum B1 level are mandatory and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
Availability to support ongoing and future projects across Europe.
